ADA Parking Lot Compliance in Columbus, OH
Accessible parking spaces, van-accessible aisles, and ADA signage laid out to the 2010 ADA Standards by a veteran-owned local crew.
Veteran-owned. Locally operated.
Why ADA parking compliance matters
Accessible parking is required for businesses and facilities that are open to the public. Missing spaces, faded symbols, or signs mounted at the wrong height can lead to complaints and lawsuits, and they make it harder for customers with disabilities to visit you.
We survey your lot, figure out how many accessible and van-accessible spaces you need, and stripe and sign them correctly so your property is safe, welcoming, and compliant.

Accessible Parking Spaces
We lay out and stripe the right number of accessible spaces for your lot size, placed on the shortest accessible route to your entrance.

Van-Accessible Spaces
At least one of every six accessible spaces must be van-accessible. We stripe the wider space or access aisle and mark it correctly.

Access Aisles & Symbols
Striped access aisles next to every accessible space, plus a crisp, bright International Symbol of Accessibility.

ADA Sign Installation
Accessible parking and Van Accessible signs mounted at the required height, with posts and hardware installed by our crew.

Fire Lanes & Curb Markings
Red curbs, fire lane lettering, and no-parking zones that keep emergency access clear.

Lot Surveys & Restriping
Faded or outdated layout? We survey your existing lot and restripe it to current standards.
ADA Parking FAQs
How many accessible parking spaces does my lot need?
It depends on the total number of spaces. Under the 2010 ADA Standards, a lot with 1 to 25 spaces needs at least 1 accessible space, 26 to 50 needs 2, 51 to 75 needs 3, and 76 to 100 needs 4, with the number increasing for larger lots. At least one of every six accessible spaces must be van-accessible. We will calculate the exact count for your lot.
How wide does an accessible parking space need to be?
Car spaces must be at least 96 inches wide with an adjacent access aisle at least 60 inches wide. Van-accessible spaces need either a 132-inch space with a 60-inch aisle, or a 96-inch space with a 96-inch aisle.
How high do ADA parking signs need to be?
The bottom of the sign must be at least 60 inches above the ground so it stays visible when a vehicle is parked in the space. Van-accessible spaces need a sign that says Van Accessible.
Does restriping my lot mean it has to meet current ADA standards?
Generally, yes. Restriping or altering a parking lot is treated as an alteration, so the new layout should meet current accessibility standards. Local requirements can vary, so check with your local building department. We can lay out a compliant plan for you.
What types of properties do you work with?
We work with retail centers, offices, churches, apartment complexes, HOAs, and other commercial properties across Columbus and Central Ohio.
